"Sarah Piatt's Critical Language of the Poetess and Exploring the Feminine Tradition"
This essay was one of three essays that were submitted for my final graduate portfolio. The paper discusses the antebellum figure of the Poetess and the history of the feminine tradition in American poetry and how women poets such as Sarah Piatt contest this figure for their own independence.

"En Masque : Power in Disguise in Shakespeare's Comedies and the Renaissance Theatre"
This essay was one of three essays that were submitted for my final graduate portfolio. The paper discusses Shakespeare's use of disguise in Love's Labour's Lost and The Merchant of Venice as well as how these disguises were significant on the Renaissance stage.

"'Flowers of the Field': The. Sexual and Reproductive Imagery of Eve and Eden in Milton"
This essay was one of three essays that were submitted for my final graduate portfolio. The paper discusses the concept of Eve in John Milton's Paradise Lost and how her life in the Garden of Eden is paralleled with the reproductive imagery that was known of Renaissance women.
